Photography Challenges

• Dual metallic finish: Rose gold and silver chrome on one body reflect light differently. Rose gold absorbs warm tones while silver chrome mirrors everything. A single lighting setup makes one finish look correct and the other look flat or discolored.
• Transparent filter window: The yellow cartridge sits behind a clear acrylic window. Direct flash creates a hotspot that blows out the yellow to white. Side lighting causes the window to reflect the studio instead of showing the cartridge.
• Cylindrical highlight falloff: A round body means the highlight rolls off quickly from center to edge. Without fill, the product looks like a silhouette with a bright stripe instead of a three-dimensional object.
• Silicone nozzle texture: The front face has 50+ tiny silicone nozzles. Too much light flattens them into a solid disc. Too little loses the texture that signals quality to buyers.

Our Approach

White Background Product Shots

We chose the 100mm macro over the 24-70mm because the shower head is under 25cm tall. The macro's flat field keeps the entire cylinder sharp from front nozzle to rear handle without perspective distortion. At f/11, depth of field covers 8cm front-to-back — enough for the full product while keeping the background clean.

For the dual metallic finish, we ran two key lights: a 5600K softbox at 45 degrees for the silver chrome, and a 3200K gridded spot at 30 degrees for the rose gold. The color temperature difference is 2400K — enough to warm the rose gold without making the silver look yellow. A polarizing filter rotated to 90 degrees killed the reflection on the acrylic window while preserving 85% of the yellow cartridge saturation.

The replacement filter is a separate SKU that buyers search for independently. We shot it at 1:1 magnification with the 100mm macro, f/8, ISO 100. The perforated surface needed a single overhead softbox to create even shadowing in each hole — side lighting made the holes look like dents instead of functional pores.

Post-Production and Retouching

Dual-tone products require selective color grading. We masked the rose gold ring and applied a +5 warmth shift in Lightroom while keeping the silver body neutral. The acrylic window received a -15 highlight recovery to restore detail without graying the yellow cartridge. Silicone nozzles were sharpened locally at 0.5px radius to enhance texture without creating halos.
