The client sells urban bikes to young city riders and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the line with a model for its launch campaign. The range covers a burgundy fixed-gear with colorful honeycomb wheels and a white fat-tire cruiser. We shot 8 images in our Guangzhou studio on a plain gray cyclorama: pointing-ahead poses, a head-on track stance, a relaxed lean on the fat bike, and one full wheelie frozen mid-air, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges
1. A bike alone is a spec sheet. Buyers of city bikes shop for a feeling, not a frame. Every frame puts a rider on the bike in a real riding attitude, pointing ahead, crouched in a track stance, or mid-wheelie, so the listing sells the ride, not just the hardware.
2. Action in a still photo. The wheelie frame is a genuine balancing act, not a composite. The rider held the bike on its rear wheel while we shot bursts, and we picked the frame where his balance, the bike's angle, and his expression all peak together.
3. Colorful wheels can steal the frame. The fixie's pink and blue honeycomb wheels are the line's signature, so they must pop, but not louder than the whole bike. The gray cyclorama and the model's dark jeans stay quiet on purpose, leaving the color budget to the wheels.
4. Symmetry sells the stance. The head-on frames only work if rider and bike line up dead center. We marked the floor for wheel position, squared the handlebars to camera, and shot until shoulders, bars, and front wheel sat on one axis.
Our Approach
Model-on-Bike Studio Poses
The whole set runs on a seamless gray cyclorama with soft even light, so rider and bike read as one clean shape. Poses move through a rider's story: pointing ahead as if calling the route, leaning casual on the fat bike, crouched head-on like a sprint start. The rider's striped polos and dark jeans are styled to echo the frames without matching them.
The Wheelie Frame
The action frame is the gallery's stopper. The rider pulls the fat bike onto its rear wheel and holds it while we fire bursts at a fast shutter. No wires, no compositing: when balance, bike angle, and expression line up in one frame, that is the keeper. It proves two product truths at once: the bike is light enough to lift, and tough enough to play on.
Retouching
All 8 frames get one clean catalog finish: floor shadows kept soft and real, the gray backdrop evened out, frame and wheel colors matched to the physical bikes, and skin tones left natural. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings, brand stores, and social ads.
"Put a rider on the bike and the photo answers the buyer's real question: not 'what is it', but 'who do I become on it'." — Garbo, Senior Photographer

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an 8-image model set cost?
This set came to about $360 at $45 per model image, styling and direction included. Product-only shots of each bike on white or gray for spec slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.
How long does a model shoot take?
These 8 images were delivered in 5 business days. The model session itself runs a few hours; the rest is selection and retouching. We handle model casting, styling, and direction in-house.
Can model photos go on Amazon?
Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, brand store, and social ads, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the bike alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per model.
How do you shoot a wheelie in a studio?
For real. The rider balances on the rear wheel while we fire fast bursts, and we keep the frame where balance, bike angle, and expression peak together. No compositing, so the physics look honest.
Can you shoot bikes without a model too?
Yes. Clean product-only frames of each bike, on white or gray, can be added in the same session at the $12 packshot rate.
Can you shoot more bike colors or models later?
Yes. The cyclorama setup and pose notes stay on file, so new bikes match this gallery: same backdrop, same light, same stance. New models run at the standard $12 or $45 per-image rates.
