The client sells insulated travel tumblers to commuters and outdoor buyers and commissioned AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to produce a lifestyle image set for its marketplace listings and brand campaigns. The tumbler has a tapered cup-holder-friendly body, a flip-straw lid, and a folding carry handle, and the line runs across 5 colorways including teal gradient, orange, and chartreuse. We delivered 6 lifestyle scenes: two in-car interiors built around the cup-holder fit, an office desk scene, a sunset beach picnic, a gym scene, and a three-panel in-car collage, produced across 2 shoot days under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. A dark car interior eats the product. Leather cockpits photograph beautifully and drink light. A tumbler on a black console against a brown seat is one stop from disappearing, so the product gets its own key through the window line while the interior stays on ambient.

2. Five colorways across four environments. Teal gradient at the beach reads tropical; the same bottle in a gray office reads calm. Each scene is graded to its environment, but the product color itself is locked to the physical tumbler within DeltaE 2, or the listing's colorway swatches stop matching the photos.

3. Models must sell the moment, not themselves. The brief is a product listing, not a portrait session. Models are framed cropped, turned away, or behind the product plane, and the tumbler always sits on the focus point; the beach group carries the mood while 3 bottles hold the foreground.

4. Glossy lids and handles under hard sun. The flip lid and folding handle are gloss plastic. Golden-hour backlight rims them nicely and also blows them out, so the beach frames expose for the lid highlights and let the sky go, then recover the bottle in the grade.

Our Approach

In-Car Scenes

The cup-holder frames are the listing's proof of fit. The camera braces against the seat and shoots at 35mm from door height, close to a passenger's eye line, so the tapered body reads as it will in a buyer's own car. A collapsible reflector outside the glass bounces daylight back onto the tumbler's face, and a hand enters only to place or grip the bottle, which keeps the action honest. The three-panel collage was built for social and A+ slots, with the diagonal cuts carrying the eye across 3 colorways in one asset.

Office, Beach, and Gym Scenes

The office scene puts the teal tumbler on the focus plane in the foreground and lets the working model fall soft behind it, so the listing gets a use context without a portrait. The beach picnic is shot into the setting sun at f/4: the group goes warm and slightly backlit while 3 bottles hold the sharp foreground row. The gym frame reverses the recipe, keying the model and letting the orange bottle catch a strip of the same key at her feet, because a hero product in a gym scene still has to read at thumbnail size.

Post-Production and Retouching

All 6 scenes grade to one warm commercial master, with the tumbler colorways matched to the physical bottles within DeltaE 2. The beach frames hold lid highlights at -20 recovery to keep the gloss plastic from clipping, and the car frames lift the product face about half a stop over the interior. Files were delivered at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for marketplace galleries and A+ Content modules.

"Put a thirty-dollar tumbler in a luxury cockpit and the light has to treat them as equals. The product takes the key; the leather takes the fill." Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a lifestyle shoot with models priced?

This 6-scene set mixes 3 hands-only car scenes at the $35 scene rate with 3 model scenes at $45 per image, which comes to about $240 with styling and casting included. White-background packshots of each colorway for main-image slots start at $12 per image.

How long does a 6-scene lifestyle production take?

This set was delivered in 7 business days: 2 shoot days across the car set, office, beach, and gym, plus retouching. Single-environment lifestyle sets without models run faster, typically inside the standard 5-7 business day window.

Do lifestyle images work for marketplace listings?

They are built for secondary slots, A+ Content, Storefront, and social ads, delivered at 2000x2000px sRGB, above Amazon's 1000px zoom minimum. The main image still needs the tumbler alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per image for each of the 5 colorways.

Can you shoot in real locations like cars and beaches?

Yes. This production used a studio-built car interior for the cup-holder frames and real office, beach, and gym locations around Guangzhou. Location scouting, permits where needed, and model casting are quoted into the scene rate before shoot day.

How do you keep the product readable inside a dark car?

The interior stays on ambient light and the tumbler gets its own key through the window line, with a reflector bouncing daylight back onto the bottle's face. In the grade the product face lifts about half a stop over the interior, so the cup reads first and the cockpit frames it.

Will the colorways match across different scenes?

Yes. Each scene grades to its own environment, but the tumbler colors are locked to the physical bottles within DeltaE 2. The teal gradient at the beach and the same bottle in the office stay the same teal, so the colorway swatches on the listing match the photos.
