The client sells silicone breastfeeding accessories and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot its nipple shield for online listings. The product is small, soft, and completely clear, sold with a storage case and a retail box. We shot 4 images in our Guangzhou studio on a fresh blue-and-beige set: the case opened with the shield inside, a playful scene with miniature props, the product beside its retail box, and a hero frame where the shield hovers over a glass of water inside a frozen splash ring, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Clear silicone is a ghost. A transparent shield on a light set barely photographs at all. We shot against the blue half of the set so the shield's edges pick up color and its shape reads, and used small hard highlights to draw the outline. Without that contrast the product simply vanishes.

2. Tiny product, big story. The shield is a few centimeters across, but the listing has to explain case, box, and use. Each frame takes one job: case storage, what's in the box, and the splash hero for purity. No frame tries to say everything.

3. The splash is a numbers game. The hero frame freezes a water splash around the hovering shield. We dropped, splashed, and shot bursts until the ring formed cleanly around the product, then picked the one frame where the crown and the shield line up. It took most of the session's frames to get one keeper.

4. Clear plastic case, no scratches allowed. The storage case scuffs if you look at it twice. It was polished before every take, and any remaining marks were cleaned in retouching, because a scratched case in the photo reads as a scratched case in the mail.

Our Approach

Fresh Two-Tone Scenes

The set pairs a sky-blue backdrop with a warm beige surface, the classic clean-and-caring palette for baby care. The case scene opens the lid with the shield resting inside; the prop scene floats a shield over a miniature bench and tiny house for a nursery mood; the box scene lays the product beside its retail carton with pastel geometric props, so shoppers know exactly what arrives.

Splash Hero Frame

The hero frame suspends the shield above a half-full glass while a splash ring freezes around it, with a second shield resting underwater inside the glass. The message is purity and water-safe material, told without a word. Shot at high shutter speed with the shield on a clear support, retouched to remove the support.

Retouching

All 4 frames get one bright, clean finish: the blue kept fresh, the beige warm, transparent edges cleaned so the silicone reads crisp, and the support removed from the splash frame at full resolution. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.

"Photographing something invisible is about giving it edges: a colored background, a hard little highlight, a splash of water. Then the clear product finally shows up." June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 4-image set like this cost?

This set came to about $140 at $35 per styled image, props and splash work included. Plain white-background shots for your main listing image start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.

How long does the shoot take?

These 4 images were delivered in 5 business days. Splash heroes are the slow part: we shoot until the water behaves, which is why we schedule them with buffer.

Can styled scenes go on Amazon?

Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the product alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per item.

How do you photograph something transparent?

Against a colored background with a small hard light for the edges. The background gives the clear material a shape, and the highlight draws its outline. On white, clear silicone simply disappears.

How do you freeze a water splash?

Fast shutter, quick bursts, and patience. We repeat the splash until the ring forms cleanly around the product, then keep the one frame where everything lines up.

Can you shoot the rest of my feeding line in this style?

Yes. The two-tone set and lighting recipe stay on file, so bottles, pacifiers, and cases shot later match this gallery: same palette, same light, same finish. New items run at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
