Porcelain Tableware Collection Photography

The client distributes porcelain tableware and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot 3 collection lines for online catalogs: a plain white restaurant series, a peony floral series, and a rose gold-trim series. We shot 10 images in our Guangzhou studio's dining set: full collections gathered by a sheer-curtained window with wine and fruit, nested plate sets on woven mats, and tureens opened with ladles, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Three lines, three personalities. Plain white reads restaurant-clean, peony reads family banquet, rose gold reads gift box. We kept one window set but changed the dressing: teal satin and wine for white, navy runner and cherries for peony, silver satin for the gold-trim, so each line meets its own buyer.

2. A full set must stay readable. Stack everything randomly and the photo becomes a jumble sale. We build in layers: bowls inverted in a pyramid left, tureen center, plates upright on stands right, spoons and smalls in front. Every piece is findable.

3. White on white window light. Sheer curtains behind white porcelain risk washing the pieces out. We exposed for the porcelain, let the window glow soft behind, and laid brown bamboo and colored cloth under the sets, so the white has something to stand on.

4. Food props set the scale. Cherries in a sauce dish, a skewer on a platter, berries by the tureen: small real food tells buyers the size of every piece without a ruler, and it makes the table look ready.

The hero frames gather each full line in one shot: dozens of pieces layered front to back, readable at a glance. These are the catalog openers that say 'this is the range' in a single frame.

Nested and Detail Frames

The nested frames fan 3 plate sizes to show scale in one image. The detail frames open the tureens: lid leaning, ladle resting inside, gold trim and scalloped rims catching the window light.

Retouching

All 10 frames keep the porcelain honest: whites luminous without blowing, floral decals crisp, gold trim warm, and the window glow kept soft. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings, wholesale catalogs, and A+ Content.
