Yonex Mavis Shuttlecock Product Photography

The client sells badminton equipment and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot Yonex Mavis nylon shuttlecocks for online listings: the Mavis 600 and Mavis 300 tubes, plus loose birdies in white and neon yellow. We shot 6 images in our Guangzhou studio on the white sweep: tube heroes with loose shuttles beside, and diagonal singles that show the lattice skirt and the cork base, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. A white skirt on a white sweep. The translucent nylon lattice disappears against white if lit flat. We light the background separately and flag the subject, so the skirt's hexagonal mesh reads edge to edge while the sweep stays pure.

2. The diagonal is the informative angle. Nose-down diagonal shows the cap, the blue band, the cork ring, and the full skirt flare in one frame. That is 4 buying questions answered in a single image.

3. Tubes sell quantity, singles sell quality. The tube frames prove what arrives (6 shuttles, sealed pack), with loose birdies beside for scale. The singles prove the build: lattice pattern, band color, cork texture.

4. Neon yellow needs no help. The yellow birdie glows on white by itself; the job is exposure discipline so the fluorescent skirt stays saturated without clipping into a blob.
