The client sells floral folding umbrellas and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the line for online listings: a white floral model and a black model with the print hidden inside. We shot 8 images in our Guangzhou studio across 2 setups: tabletop flat lays on grid mats with coffee and magazines, and a bright room corner where the umbrellas stand open on the wood floor, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges
1. An umbrella is 2 products: closed and open. Closed, it is a slim printed tube that fits a handbag. Open, it is a meter of floral canopy. Buyers need both truths, so the set covers both: folded flat lays for size, open floor shots for the print at full bloom.
2. The black model hides its print inside. One umbrella wears solid black outside and the full floral print on the inner canopy. That design only photographs one way: we tilt the open umbrella toward camera so the interior artwork fills the frame, and the exterior stays a black promise.
3. Flat lays need a reason for every prop. The grid mat gives scale lines, the coffee cup gives morning, the magazine gives commute, the phone gives size reference. Each prop answers a shopper question, which is why each prop is there.
4. The underside proves the build. Ribs, hub, and strap only show from below. The underside frame counts the ribs and shows the stitching buyers zoom for, so quality claims have a picture to stand on.
Our Approach
Tabletop Flat Lays
The folded umbrellas lie diagonally on the white grid mat: one sleeve on, one sleeve off, handles and auto buttons forward. Coffee, dried flowers, magazine, and phone place the umbrella in a morning routine and give the eye a size ruler.
Open Room Scenes
The bright corner set stands the umbrellas open on light wood: the floral model canopy-out, the black model tilted to reveal its printed interior, and a straight underside shot for the rib count. Sheer curtains give the light; the room gives the scale.
Packaging Frame
The closed umbrella rests on its floral gift box with berries and daisies around: the frame gift buyers look for, because the box is part of what they are buying.
Retouching
All 8 frames keep the print honest: floral colors matched to the physical canopy, whites clean, blacks deep, and the grid lines straight. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.
"Umbrellas sell in 2 states: folded small, opened beautiful. Photograph both, add one underside for the build, and the listing is complete." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an 8-image set like this cost?
This set came to about $280 at $35 per styled image, both sets and props included. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.
How long does the shoot take?
These 8 images were delivered in 5 business days. Two sets in one session: the flat lays on the tabletop, the open umbrellas in the room corner beside it.
Can styled scenes go on Amazon?
Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the umbrella alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per model.
How do you show an umbrella that is printed inside?
We open it and tilt the canopy toward camera, so the interior artwork fills the frame. The exterior stays visible at the edges, so buyers understand the 2-sided design in one image.
Why include an underside shot?
Because ribs, hub, and stitching only show from below. That frame answers the quality questions buyers zoom for, without a word of copy.
Can you add more prints later?
Yes. Both sets stay in the studio, so new prints slot into the same layouts, at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
