Engtech Living, a Chinese kitchen organization brand, asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot its ventilated knife rack for the catalog: solid wood slats over a perforated drip tray, rail-mounted above the counter. We shot 6 images in our Guangzhou studio on the white kitchen set: the empty rack for the construction story, the loaded rack with its copper-coated knife set, a hand pulling the chef knife mid-motion, and the wide frame that puts the rack in a working kitchen, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges
1. The empty rack is the engineering story. Loaded, you see knives; empty, you see the design: spaced slats for airflow, the perforated drip tray, the rail mount. We shoot it bare first, because the ventilation claim is invisible once the knives go in.
2. Copper blades are the set's identity. The knife set's rose-copper coating is how buyers recognize it. We light the blades with a soft source raked along their length, so the coating reads as a continuous metallic sheen instead of a brown smudge, and the polished edges catch a bright line.
3. A hand proves the slot action. Knife storage fails if slots grip too tight or too loose. The action frame catches the chef knife half-drawn: blade angled out of its slot, grip in hand. One frame that says the rack works, no copy needed.
4. The wide frame prices the system. Buyers of organization systems want the kitchen picture: rack, lid holder, board stand, sink, and counter in one read. We keep the set spotless and the depth shallow, so the rack anchors the scene without fighting it.
Our Approach
The Empty Frames
The bare rack from front and three-quarter: slat spacing, tray perforations, and rail mount all readable. These are the frames that carry the 'ventilated, no trapped moisture' argument.
The Loaded Frame
The full cutlery set seated: 5 knives descending by size, shears, and the honing steel, copper blades up. Capacity and the matching-set story in one frame.
The Action and Wide Frames
The hand mid-draw for function; the kitchen wide shot with sink, board, and produce bowl for context. System sold, then system placed.
Retouching
All 6 frames keep the kitchen honest: wood grain warm, copper sheen continuous, whites at 245-252, and the steel counter reflections clean. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.
"A knife rack sells in 3 states: empty for the engineering, loaded for the set, and mid-draw for the proof." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a 6-image set like this cost?
This set came to about $210 at $35 per styled image, the kitchen set included. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.
How long does the shoot take?
These 6 images were delivered in 5 business days. Empty, loaded, and action frames share one session on the same rail mount.
Can kitchen scenes go on Amazon?
Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the rack alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per model.
Why photograph the rack empty?
Because loaded, you see knives; empty, you see the design. The slat spacing and drip tray are the ventilation claim, and they are invisible once the knives go in.
How do you keep copper blades looking metallic?
With a soft source raked along the blade length. The coating reads as a continuous metallic sheen, and the polished cutting edge catches one bright line.
Can you add more organizers later?
Yes. The kitchen set and rail stay assembled in the studio, so new components match this set exactly, at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
