The client sells fitted kitchens and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the showroom line for its catalog: cream flat-panel cabinets, stainless counters, and the black appliance suite. We shot 7 images in our Guangzhou studio on the full kitchen set: wide frames for the room, mid frames where the model uses the knife rack and wipes the steel counter, and posed frames that give the cabinetry a human scale, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. A kitchen is too big for one frame. Cabinet runs are 4 meters of product. We shoot the wide frames at 35mm from a ladder height, keeping verticals vertical with careful camera leveling, so the cabinet lines stay honest and the room reads as architecture, not a fisheye.

2. The model is a scale ruler, not a model. Her job is to show counter height, cabinet reach, and aisle width. We pose her working, wiping the counter, reaching the rack, standing at the hob, because a body at work sells dimensions that a tape-measure photo cannot.

3. Stainless counters fight the exposure. The steel worktop mirrors the softboxes. We flag the overhead sources into strips, so the counter carries one long highlight along its length: the reflection proves the finish without blinding the frame.

4. The cleaning frame is the proof frame. 'Easy-clean stainless' is a claim; a white cloth on the counter is the evidence. We stage the wipe mid-motion with the cloth bright against the steel, so the selling point photographs as an action.

Our Approach

Wide Room Frames

The full-run frames place the model inside the architecture: one hand on the rail, one at the hob. Camera leveled at ladder height, cabinets square, so the catalog hero reads as a real room.

Interaction Frames

The mid frames put her hands on the product: knives into the rack, cloth on the steel. These are the frames buyers study, because use is what a kitchen is for.

Posed Frames

The editorial frames give the line its polish: satin blouse against cream cabinetry, the kitchen as a lifestyle setting. Same set, same light, different distance.

Retouching

All 7 frames keep the room honest: cabinet cream matched to the physical panels under D50, steel reflections graded, verticals checked, and skin natural. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for catalogs, Amazon A+ Content, and showroom print.

"Showroom photography is architecture plus evidence: wide frames for the room, a working model for scale, and one action frame for every claim." Garbo, Model & Lifestyle Photographer

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 7-image set like this cost?

This set came to about $315 at $45 per styled image with a model, the full kitchen set included. Product-only frames on white start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.

How long does the shoot take?

These 7 images were delivered in 5 business days. One set, one model, 3 distances: wide, interaction, posed. The kitchen set stays built in the studio.

Where can these images be used?

Catalogs, brand stores, Amazon A+ Content, and showroom print, under the full commercial license. Marketplace main images still need the single-product white version, which we add at $12 per model.

Why use a model in kitchen photography?

As a scale ruler. A body at work shows counter height, cabinet reach, and aisle width: dimensions a tape-measure photo cannot sell.

How do you keep stainless counters from glaring?

By flagging the overhead softboxes into strips, so the counter carries one long highlight along its length. The reflection proves the finish without blinding the frame.

Can you shoot more cabinet colors later?

Yes. The kitchen set swaps panels, so new colors shoot in the same architecture, at the standard $12, $35, or $45 per-image rates.
