The client is a watch seller with several men's dress models, from chronographs with leather straps to two-tone quartz pieces. The brief asked for one consistent library per model: white-background catalog frames for listings, styled scenes for brand pages and wrist shots for scale. All 20 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. Polished cases mirror the whole studio. Steel and gold-tone watch cases act like fisheye mirrors. Large diffusion panels surround the set so every reflection reads as one clean gradient, and the light tent leaves only a controlled stripe across the bezel.

2. Mixed models must sit in one visual system. Chronographs, leather-strap dress pieces and metal-band quartz models each get the same camera height and key direction, so a buyer scrolling the catalog feels one brand rather than three suppliers.

3. Dial text dies at small apertures. Deep depth of field keeps the whole watch sharp but turns sub-dial printing muddy. The compromise is f/11 with focus stacking on the dial frames, trading a little background softness for readable markings.

Our Approach

Catalog frames first.

Frames 01-08 cover each model on the white sweep at three angles, with the crown set to 10:10 and straps shaped around a hidden form so the silhouette stays consistent.

Styled scene coverage.

Frames 09-16 move the same watches onto textured surfaces with restrained props, keeping the dial as the brightest object and the brand side of the case to camera.

Scale and wear shots.

Frames 17-20 put the key models on wrist, cropped tight so the listing page gets a size read without turning the set into a fashion shoot.

"Watch photography is reflection management before anything else. Once the case stops showing your studio, the dial can do its job." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a multi-model watch library priced?

Styled creative frames start at $35 per image under our Growth package, while white-background catalog frames start from $12 per image under Essential, so a mixed 20-frame library like this can be split across the two tiers. All rates are starting prices, and the final quote depends on your requirements.

How long does a 20-frame watch session take?

This library was delivered inside our standard 5-7 business day window: model prep and strap shaping first, then catalog frames, styled sets and retouching.

Can you keep our logo side of the case readable?

Yes. Case-side branding is lit with a dedicated gridded source and checked at 100 percent during retouching, and files ship at 2000x2000px sRGB, above the 1000px zoom minimum.

Do you shoot couple or paired watch sets?

Yes. Paired compositions are staged on one surface with matched height and angle, so his-and-hers models read as a designed set rather than two separate products.
