Pendant and Brooch Library Photography

The client runs a fashion jewelry catalog of pendants, lockets and brooches across filigree, enamel and pearl-accented designs. The brief was one styled library covering each piece with consistent presentation. All frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. Filigree traps light and dust. Open filigree work creates shadow cages that read as dirt. A large soft source at a steep angle keeps light inside the pattern, and each piece is air-cleaned between frames.

2. Enamel and crystal compete for attention. The library mixes glossy enamel with sparkling crystal. Each frame gets one designated hero material, with the rest styled as support, so the eye knows where to land.

3. Bamboo props can cheapen gold. The bamboo staging reads craft-market if overused. Bamboo appears only as a single structural element per frame, with the jewelry raised above it as the clear subject.

Our Approach

Filigree and pearl heroes.

Opening frames feature the filigree pendants and pearl-accented necklaces, crystals under the point light field.

Locket arrangements.

Middle frames present the enamel compacts in paired layouts, lids angled to show both faces.

Brooch series on bamboo.

Closing frames mount the bow, heart and dragonfly brooches on the bamboo element with macro finishes.
