The client sells warm honey-toned amber jewelry: beaded necklaces, drop earrings and pendant pieces with pearl and silver-tone accents. Amber's glow is its whole selling point, so the brief called for bright on-model catalog frames that let the material shine. All frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges
1. Amber glow needs light through the bead. Amber lit only from the front looks like plastic. A soft rear source is feathered through the beads so the honey tones light from inside, while the model's exposure stays balanced.
2. Yellow amber on warm skin shifts. Honey beads against warm skin tones merge. A neutral wardrobe and slight cool fill on the neckline zone keep the amber visually separated from skin.
3. On-model beads swing out of focus. Beaded strands move as the model breathes. The strand is settled before every frame and focus is rechecked on the center beads, not the clasp.
Our Approach
Neckline hero frames.
Opening frames crop at the neckline with the amber strand settled and the rear glow active.
Earring and pendant coverage.
Middle frames add the drop earrings and pendant pieces in matching bright compositions.
Texture and glow macros.
Closing frames isolate bead interiors and inclusions with the 100mm macro.
"Amber is bottled light. The photographer's job is to open the bottle without spilling it." — Garbo, Director of Photography
