A leadership branding portrait has one job: make five individuals read as one board. This session built the frame on hierarchy and palette, with the principal seated in the armchair at center, two colleagues perched on its arms, two standing at the flanks, and every wardrobe pulled from one navy-charcoal-burgundy range with matching lapel pins as the unifying detail. The frame was delivered under a full commercial license for the company's website, investor and press materials.

Photography Challenges
1. Pyramid composition must not demote anyone. A seated principal with colleagues on the chair arms states a clear hierarchy, which is the point, but the two standing members at the flanks risk reading as staff. Their distance to camera is matched to the seated group and their eyelines are level, so rank reads as structure, not status.
2. Five wardrobes, one palette. Coordinated does not mean identical: the men wear pinstripe and solid suiting with burgundy and paisley ties, the women wear navy skirt suits with different blouses. The range is fixed with the client in advance, and every piece is checked against the palette before the session.
3. Matching pins are a millimeter-scale detail. The lapel pin is the frame's quiet brand signal, and at web size it only reads if every pin sits at the same angle and catches the same light. Pins are aligned and checked on a test frame before the group is called in.
4. Dark leather on a dark sweep needs separation. The brown leather armchair against charcoal can read as a hole in the middle of the frame. A soft rim on the chair's rolled arms and a slight lift of the backdrop behind the group keep the set piece legible.
Our Approach
The board frame.
The keeper is the full pyramid: principal centered and leaning forward, colleagues on the arms, flankers standing tall. Everyone is sharp front to back, eyelines on the lens, expressions settled between neutral and approachable.
Lighting for a conservative register.
A large diffused key from camera left with low-power fill keeps contrast near a 2:1 ratio, and a faint hair light separates dark suits from the charcoal sweep. Glasses wearers are angle-checked so lenses stay clear of reflections.
Wardrobe discipline on set.
Cuffs are set to show a half inch of shirt, ties are re-knotted between takes, and the pocket square is folded to the same depth every frame. At this register, the details are the photograph.
Retouching for a board deliverable.
Skin is evened while keeping texture, the sweep is smoothed to a clean gradient, and the group grade is balanced so no single face runs hotter than the rest.
"A leadership portrait is organizational design with a camera. Get the hierarchy and the palette right, and five strangers to the viewer already look like a board." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a leadership branding portrait priced?
Executive group sessions are billed from $800/day per photography team, with makeup and venue fees itemized separately when they apply. Tell us the headcount and we return a written per-project quote.
How should a leadership team dress for a branding portrait?
Pick one palette of three to four colors and let cuts vary inside it. We review wardrobe plans before the shoot and flag pieces that fight the set or the camera.
Can you match this style for future hires?
Yes. The light map, set and grade are documented per client, so new members photographed later slot into the same visual system.
What is the turnaround?
Standard delivery is 3-5 business days from shoot day, including retouching and group grade balancing.
Who owns the images?
