Infant sleepwear sells on softness and freedom of movement, and both have to be visible. This ten-frame catalog set tracks one toddler through a full nursery arc: front standing frames with toy fruit establish the white body and mint raglan sleeves, mid-balance and first-step frames prove the romper moves with a new walker, prone and semi-reclined frames show the snap placket and chest graphic up close, and back-view frames document the rear fit and ankle cuffs. The set stays constant: white padded mat, wire basket table, gooseneck lamp, sheer-curtained window blown to clean high-key white, so nothing competes with the garment.

Photography Challenges

1. White on white kills edges. A white romper on a white mat against a blown window loses its outline fast. Exposure is metered on the garment front, the window is allowed to clip by design, and the mint sleeves and colored snaps carry the separation so the silhouette never dissolves.

2. Toddlers do not hold marks. A twelve-to-eighteen-month-old cannot repeat a pose. The set is dressed as one continuous play zone, and the photographer works the arc as it happens, so catalog coverage comes from anticipation, not direction.

3. Snap and print detail need close proof. Buyers of infantwear check closures first. Prone and reclining frames put the snap placket, chest bunny print and ankle cuffs near the lens at shallow depth, so construction reads without a separate macro pass.

4. Rear fit must sell too. Back views are mandatory in romper catalogs. Standing and mid-step rear frames show the raglan sleeve wrap and seat fit, timed between front-play moments so the model never feels rotated.

Our Approach

The front establishers.

Frames 1, 4 and 9 place the toddler upright at center, toy fruit and balloon sticks giving her hands a job; the romper front, star headband and bare feet read in one glance for the listing lead image.

The movement proof.

Frames 2, 3, 6 and 8 catch real early-walker mechanics: semi-reclined pushes, prone prop-ups, mid-waddle steps. Each frame proves the romper stretches and recovers without binding at the snap line.

The detail frames.

Frames 7 and 10 move closer: the lantern cord gives a natural hand raise, the arms-behind-back stance opens the torso, and the bunny print, placket snaps and cuff rib all hold focus.

The rear documentation.

Frame 5 closes the set with a clean full-back standing frame, the profile head turn keeping it human; it anchors the catalog back-cover slot and the size-chart page.

"Baby catalog work is ninety percent readiness. Dress one honest play set, meter for the garment, and let the toddler write the shot list for you." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

How is an infant catalog session priced?

Baby and toddler catalog sessions are billed from $800/day per photography team, with infant model agency fees itemized separately; a ten-frame single-garment set can also be quoted per image under our Growth tier from $35/image.

How do you photograph toddlers who cannot take direction?

We build one safe play set, keep the guardian on set, and shoot the child's natural play arc in short windows, which produces real movement frames no posed session can fake.

Can you cover front, back and detail views in one session?

Yes. We plan the coverage list in advance and work it into the play flow, so front establishers, rear fit and closure details all land in a single session.

What is the turnaround?

Standard delivery is 5-7 business days from shoot day, including retouching and grade matching across the full set.

Who owns the images?

Your brand does, under a full commercial license covering catalog, marketplace, social and advertising use.
