A brand catalog frame carries more than the product. This session photographed two M.D.F Elegant Series underwire sets, a peacock blue satin and black lace style and a black-mocha sheer mesh full-figure style, against a cream carved marble fireplace with a white cherub statuette and diamond-tufted wall panels. The frames were composed with quiet low-detail zones so the brand's style code, size range and colorway blocks stay legible on the finished layout, and were delivered as full commercial layout masters for the printed catalog.

Photography Challenges
1. Peacock satin against cream plaster loses its edges. Deep teal satin reads almost black against a bright carved fireplace if the key is flat. A warm directional key with a tight rim along the shoulder line separates the fabric from the plaster, and exposure is anchored on the satin so the peacock dye keeps its depth instead of clipping.
2. Lace and mesh must survive catalog enlargement. Buyers zoom catalog images to judge embroidery quality. The light is angled to rake across the scalloped black lace so the stitched relief reads at full-size crop, while the sheer mesh panels stay clean without moire from the tufted backdrop.
3. On-image spec blocks need negative space built in. The catalog layout prints style code, size range and colorway text directly on the image. Both frames reserve low-detail background at the overlay position, so white layout text stays readable without a shadow plate behind it.
4. Two different sets must grade as one series. A glossy peacock set and a matte black-mocha set respond differently to the same light. One light map is built for the lace texture first, then flagged per wardrobe change, so both frames sit in one warm series grade at the catalog table.
Our Approach
The fireplace hero frame.
Frame 1 builds the series read: the model standing into the carved fireplace with the cherub statuette over her shoulder, the peacock set fully legible, and the M.D.F brand block sitting in the quiet zone at lower left where the layout needs it.
The full-figure sales frame.
Frame 2 carries the black-mocha longline style: a wider side panel and sheer mesh body photographed three-quarter to show the adjustment fit through the wing and hip, with the same fireplace set anchoring the series continuity.
Lighting for satin, lace and plaster.
Polished plaster flares under a hard key, so the light is feathered across the model and flagged off the mantel edge. The lace gets a raking accent, the satin gets a soft frontal fill, and the cherub stays a soft-focus prop instead of a hotspot.
Post-production for a layout master.
Both frames are matched to one warm grade, skin keeps its texture under the beauty light, and the overlay zones are checked at final print size so the delivered masters drop straight into the M.D.F catalog template.
"On a brand catalog frame the text zone is part of the composition. Reserve the quiet background before the first exposure, not in retouch." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a brand catalog session priced?
On-model lingerie sessions are billed from $800/day per photography team, with model, makeup, set build and styling itemized separately. We return a written per-project quote after a brief call.
Can you compose for on-image specification blocks?
Yes. Share the catalog layout template before the shoot and we reserve low-detail zones at the overlay positions, so style code, size and colorway text stays legible without post fixes.
Can one session cover several series colorways?
Yes. We build one light map for the series and flag per wardrobe change, so every set and colorway grades consistently across the catalog.
What is the turnaround?
Standard delivery is 5-7 business days from shoot day, including retouching and grade matching across the set.
Who owns the images?
Your brand does, under a full commercial license covering print catalog, marketplace, social and advertising use.
