A solid freshener tin is a small object with a big job: at arm's length on a listing page, its label has to carry scent, weight, and brand in one read. Car lives needed its lavender 70g tin photographed with that discipline. We delivered 4 white-background frames from AIMI Visual Media's 3,000 m² studio in Guangzhou: a hero single, an open tub showing the petal-shaped vent slots, a three-tin multipack arrangement, and a lid-off composition that implies the moment of opening.

Photography Challenges

1. Purple is the first color to drift. Lavender purple sits between red and blue, so any white balance error pushes it toward pink or toward navy, and the label stops matching the product on the shelf. Balance was locked manually and the label was matched against the physical tin in post, because for a fragrance brand the packaging color is the scent's identity.

2. The product is really the label. A tin is just a cylinder; what sells it is the design printed on it, the lavender sprigs, the type hierarchy, the scent name. Glossy label stock turns softbox light into a glare band that erases exactly that information. The lights were positioned so reflections skim off the label instead of sitting on it, keeping the typography readable edge to edge.

3. A closed tin can't explain itself. Sealed, the product is a purple puck; the buyer can't see how fragrance gets out. The petal-shaped vent slots under the lid are the whole mechanism, so the lid-off frames do the explaining: lid leaned against the open tub in one, lid placed diagonally in the other, both keeping the label in the same read.

4. A multipack must count at a glance. The three-tin pack had to read as three in a thumbnail, not as a purple pile. The tins were arranged as a two-plus-one pyramid with every label turned to camera, so count, scent, and brand land in the same instant.

Our Approach

White Background Product Shots

All four frames run high-key on a white sweep with a soft frontal key, so the purple label keeps its saturation without a glare band, and a faint contact shadow under the tin keeps it grounded instead of floating. The hero is a straight label read at eye level, the frame that has to win the thumbnail. Everything ran on a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, and at 30.4 megapixels the small weight line and scent text on the label stay legible under zoom.

Mechanism and Multipack Frames

Frame 2 leans the removed lid against the open tub, exposing the decorative petal-shaped vents that meter the fragrance. Frame 3 stacks the three-tin multipack in a stable pyramid, labels forward, so the pack contents count instantly. Frame 4 sets the lid diagonally above the tub, a small piece of direction that suggests opening without a hand in frame. Each composition answers a different listing question while sharing one light and one white.

Post-Production & Retouching

Glossy labels record dust and handling marks, so each tin went through a surface pass at high zoom. The purple was matched to the physical packaging and held there across all four frames, because a multipack page where the hero and the stack show two different lavenders erodes trust fast. Label highlights were tamed where the stock glare survived the lighting, and the contact shadow was kept as shot, not redrawn. Masters delivered at full resolution.

"Small tins sell on discipline: one shadow, one readable label, one arrangement that explains the pack." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does air freshener product photography cost?

White-background frames like this set start at $12 per image under our Essential package, so a 4-image tin set starts around $48. Styled or in-car scenes, if you want them, start at $35 per image under Growth. All rates are starting prices; the final quote follows your SKU and pack-count list.

What's the turnaround for a 4-image tin set?

Standard delivery is 5-7 business days from product arrival at our Guangzhou studio. Small packaged goods move fast once the label lighting is solved, and most of the bench time goes into reflection control on the glossy stock.

Can you keep our label color accurate?

Yes. Purple is the first color to drift under sloppy white balance, so balance is set manually and each frame is matched to the physical packaging in post. In this set, the hero, the open tub, and the multipack all carry the same lavender.

Can you show how the tin vents?

That's the lid-off frame: the removed lid leaned against the open tub, with the petal-shaped vent slots fully visible. Buyers understand the dispensing mechanism in one image instead of a paragraph of description.

Do you shoot multipacks?

Yes. The three-tin pack was arranged as a two-plus-one pyramid with every label to camera, so the count reads at thumbnail size. Pack arrangements are planned as part of the set, not treated as an afterthought.

Will the small text on our label stay readable?

Yes. The masters are 30.4 megapixels, and the lighting keeps reflections off the label stock, so weight lines and scent text survive marketplace zoom. Label legibility is checked at full resolution before delivery.
