Liquid Eyeliner Pen — Warm-Toned Editorial Styling
Challenge: A beauty brand wanted lifestyle-editorial imagery for their liquid eyeliner pen that would stand apart from typical white-background product shots. The champagne gold packaging needed a complementary environment that enhanced its luxurious feel without competing for attention. The fine brush tip — the product's key selling point — had to be clearly visible.
Approach: We designed a warm monochromatic set using layered peach and blush-pink card stock to create geometric depth planes behind the products. Four pens were arranged in parallel diagonal formation, with one uncapped to showcase the precision felt-tip applicator. Rolled paper props added organic curves that contrasted with the straight pen silhouettes.
Lighting & Composition: A large window-style key light from camera-left created soft directional shadows that gave dimension to the flat-lay arrangement. The champagne gold finish was enhanced by a warm gel on the fill light, maintaining the cohesive peach-gold color story throughout the frame. We shot at a slight overhead angle rather than pure flat-lay to show the cylindrical form of each pen.
Results: Four final images delivered across flat-lay hero, detail tip close-up, packaging texture, and styled group arrangements. The warm editorial aesthetic gave the brand a distinctive visual identity for their social media campaign and product detail pages.

Photography Insight: Metallic packaging in warm tones benefits from color-coordinated backgrounds rather than neutral white. When the environment echoes the product's finish — gold on peach, silver on cool gray — the packaging appears intentionally designed rather than randomly placed, elevating perceived brand value.
