Cosmeceutical packaging borrows its trust from the pharmacy: crimp seals, amber glass, cross marks. Photographing this line was about protecting that clinical trust at listing size, which means glare-free white sets, legible print, and packaging finishes that read exactly as clinical as the formulator intended.

Photography Challenges

1. One light for glass, foil and plastic. The family spans clear vial glass, amber jars, matte foil sachets and a satin spray bottle. Each surface has its own glare behavior, and the brand band must read identical navy across all six.

2. Keeping amber glass honest. Amber UV glass goes muddy brown under frontal light and loses its clinical warmth. It needs transmitted light to glow, without turning the label into a silhouette.

3. Medical-vial cap reflections. The brushed aluminum crimp and glossy blue cap sit millimeters apart with opposite reflection needs, at a scale where retouching artifacts are easy to spot.

Our Approach

Locked white system

Camera, background and base lighting stayed fixed across all six SKUs; only flags moved. That is what makes the family read as one family on a catalog page rather than six unrelated packshots.

Backlit amber discipline

The cream jars were lit with a low rear source transmitting through the glass, so the amber glows warm while a flagged front fill keeps the white label and navy band fully legible.

Cap micro-flagging

On the essence vial, a small flag separates the crimp seal from the blue cap in the reflection map: the aluminum keeps its brushed texture and the cap keeps one clean highlight, with no stray studio shapes in either.

"Clinical skincare sells trust before it sells beauty. The photograph has to look like it was taken with the same discipline the formula was made with." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you keep a whole skincare family visually consistent?

Yes. We lock the setup and move only flags between SKUs, so glass, jars, sachets and spray bottles all land on the page with one light logic and one brand color read.

How do you photograph amber glass jars?

With transmitted light from behind to wake up the amber, plus a flagged front fill so labels stay readable. Frontal-only light is what turns amber glass into mud.

Do clinical-style packages need special handling?

They need restraint: no lifestyle props, true geometry, legible regulatory print. The clinical claim is made by the packaging, and the photography's job is not to get in its way.

A clinical line that needs to look as disciplined as it formulates?

Send the SKU list. We will run the whole family through one locked system and deliver a catalog set that reads as one brand, one lab, one standard.
