This line speaks the language of the pharmacy: crimp seals, tear-off caps, tamper rings, cross marks. The shoot was an exercise in restraint. No props, no gradients, no drama, just seven formats documented so precisely that a buyer can read the sterile claim at thumbnail size and trust it.

Photography Challenges

1. Seven packaging technologies, one visual voice. Crimped glass vial, soft dropper bottle, amber jar, squeeze tube, airless spray and foil sachet each handle light differently. The frames only work as a set if the navy band and the white read identically across all seven.

2. Medical closures at macro distance. Tear-off caps, crimp collars and tamper rings sit millimeters apart, mixing brushed aluminum, gloss plastic and frosted finishes. Each needs its own reflection control at a scale where flaws are obvious.

3. Keeping amber glass clinical, not muddy. The acne cream jar is UV-protective amber. Frontal light turns it brown and dead; the shot needed transmitted warmth without losing label legibility.

Our Approach

Locked bench, moving flags

Camera and background never moved across the session. Between SKUs only flags and small cards moved, which is why the set reads as one documentation pass rather than seven separate packshots.

Closure separation cards

On the vial and dropper frames, small black and white cards were placed to give each closure material its own reflection: brushed texture on aluminum, one clean highlight on gloss caps, visible ribs on tamper rings.

Rear source for the amber jar

A low light behind the jar wakes the amber to a warm honey tone, while a flagged front fill keeps the white label and navy band fully readable. The jar keeps its clinical credibility.

"Pharmacy-style skincare is bought on trust before it is bought on beauty. The photograph has to feel as disciplined as the formulation claims to be." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you shoot medical-style packaging without it looking cold?

Yes. The trick is precision, not props: true geometry, clean highlights on seals and caps, and exact brand color. Clinical packaging does its own storytelling when the photography stays out of the way.

How do you keep small print readable in packshots?

Diffused light at low contrast, a long enough lens to avoid distortion, and no heavy-handed clarity in retouch. Regulatory text has to survive marketplace compression, so we check legibility at listing size, not just at full resolution.

Do you shoot trial and full sizes as a set?

Yes. Sizes are shot in the same locked setup, so the trial tube and the full-size vial read as one product family when a marketplace shows them side by side.

A clinical line that needs documentation-grade packshots?

Send the SKU list. We will run every format through one locked system and deliver a set where the only thing that changes between frames is the product.
