Nine frames for a NetEase Youxuan USB-C hub line: anodized aluminum adapters staged inside the real desk ecosystems its buyers run, with laptops, phones, drives and cameras, from single-product heroes to a full overhead flat lay of the complete working desk.

A hub is invisible until the frame shows what it connects. This Youxuan-channel line was photographed inside the desk setups its buyers actually run: hubs plugged into laptops, tethered to SSDs, parked beside phones and headphones. The unbranded aluminum bodies needed finish and port detail to carry the quality argument on their own.
| Project Overview | |
|---|---|
| Product type | USB-C multiport hubs and adapters, aluminum |
| Deliverables | Nine frames across desk scenes and flat lays |
| Shoot location | AIMI studio, Guangzhou |
| Styling | Oak, walnut and white desk sets with device props |

Photography Challenges
1. Unbranded aluminum has to argue quality alone. Without a logo to lean on, the anodized finish and port machining carry the frame. A raking accent ran along each hub so the metal grain and port edges read as machined hardware, not plastic.
2. Props that could swallow the product. Laptops, phones and cameras are all bigger and shinier than a hub. Composition kept the hub at the frame’s visual anchor with props cropped or softened behind it, so the scene serves the product.
3. Nine scenes, one campaign. Oak, walnut and white surfaces change mood fast. White balance and key direction were held consistent so all nine frames read as one brand’s world, not nine borrowed desks.
Our Approach
Ecosystem staging
Each hub was photographed doing its job: plugged in, tethered, surrounded by the devices it serves. Compatibility is the product, so the scene is the spec sheet.
Raking light for bare metal
A low flagged accent per frame drew the anodized grain and the port row. Unbranded products win or lose on machining texture.
One light across nine sets
Surfaces and props changed per frame; the key direction and balance did not. The gallery hangs together as a single coordinated campaign.
"Store-brand accessories have no logo to hide behind, so the photography is the brand. Machining texture, honest desk scenes and one consistent light do the work a badge would otherwise do." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you style tech accessories in real desk scenes?
Yes. We build desk ecosystems with the devices the product actually connects, laptops, phones, drives, and compose so the accessory stays the anchor while the scene explains compatibility.
How do you sell unbranded aluminum products?
Through texture and staging. Raking light proves the machining, and honest desk scenes give the product a context that carries the quality argument a logo would otherwise make.
Can many scenes still read as one campaign?
Yes. Surfaces and props can change freely as long as key direction, white balance and composition discipline hold. Nine different desks then feel like one brand’s world.
Store-brand tech that needs a world to live in?
Send the line. We will build the desk ecosystems and keep one light across all of them, so the range reads as a brand.
