Five commercial freezers from one refrigeration catalog: curved-glass chest units, flat-top island displays and a brushed stainless premium model, photographed square and level so buyers can read capacity, lid style and footprint at a glance across the whole range page.

Commercial refrigeration buyers compare footprint, lid style and capacity across a catalog page. The five units were shot as one family: same camera height, same level front or three-quarter view, same white sweep, with glass lids cleaned to invisibility and control panels left legible for spec reading.
| Project Overview | |
|---|---|
| Product type | Commercial chest and island display freezers |
| Deliverables | Five catalog frames across the range |
| Shoot location | AIMI studio, Guangzhou |
| Styling | Seamless white, level catalog framing |
| Usage | Product catalog, distributor listings and trade shows |
Photography Challenges
1. Big white boxes on a white sweep. A white freezer on a white background loses its edges. A defined top shadow line and a soft contact shadow were managed per unit so each cabinet reads as a solid object with a footprint, not a white shape dissolving into white.
2. Curved glass lids reflect the studio twice. Curved tempered glass doubles every reflection. The lids were cleaned to a surgical standard, and strip lights were placed so their reflections run along the curve deliberately, showing the glass shape instead of hiding it.
3. Stainless versus powder coat. The premium unit’s brushed stainless finish sits stops brighter than the white powder-coated bodies. Its frame got flagged highlights to show the brush direction, while exposure was trimmed so the catalog still sits at one brightness.
Our Approach
Catalog framing discipline
Camera height and distance were fixed for the range. Buyers comparing models across the page are comparing the machines, not the photography.
Reflections used, not fought
On curved lids, strip reflections were placed along the curve to describe the glass. Controlled reflections sell the lid; random ones just look like dirt.
Finish-specific flag work
Powder coat got soft even light; stainless got flagged strips that reveal the brushed grain. Each finish photographs as the material it actually is.
"Appliance catalog work is an honesty exercise: level frames, real shadows, glass you can see through and finishes that look like the material on the showroom floor. Trust converts at this ticket size." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you photograph large appliances in studio?
Yes. Our Guangzhou studio handles freezers, coolers and similar large equipment, with protected floors and two-person moves. Fixed camera height keeps a large-appliance catalog consistent across models.
How do you photograph white products on white?
With managed edges: a defined top shadow line, a soft contact shadow and careful exposure. The cabinet keeps its true white while staying visibly separate from the sweep.
Can glass lids be photographed clearly?
Yes. Curved glass is cleaned thoroughly and lit with strips placed so reflections describe the curve. The goal is glass the buyer can see through, with reflections that prove the shape.
A heavy catalog that needs one honest look?
Send the model list and dimensions. We will lock the framing once and run the whole range through it, glass, stainless and all.
