Golf Club Headcover Product Photography

The client sells neoprene headcovers for irons and wedges and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the set for online listings. The covers are soft black sleeves with royal blue panels and white piping. We shot 2 images in our Guangzhou studio on an artificial turf set: one wide scene with covers arranged loose and one fitted on a club beside a golf ball, and one macro that gets close enough to read the fabric weave and stitching, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Soft sleeves need a story. Loose headcovers on white look like socks. The turf set gives them their world: one cover fitted on an iron with the shaft running out of frame, two more lying loose beside a ball. Buyers instantly read what the product is for.

2. Black fabric on green turf. Black neoprene against green grass can go muddy. We lit with a bright directional key so the covers carry a slight sheen and the blue panels stay royal, and kept the turf a step darker than the piping so the white trim pops.

3. The macro has to prove the material. Golfers buy neoprene for stretch and padding. The close frame fills the screen with the cover's rim, stitching, and grip dots, so the buyer can judge the material the way they would in a shop, by touch, translated into texture.

Our Approach

Styled Turf Scene

The wide frame builds a small slice of the course in the studio: short artificial turf, one cover slipped over an iron head with the shaft angling away, two loose covers beside it, and a white ball for scale. Directional light drops crisp shadows under each piece, so the set reads as outdoors without leaving the building.

Fabric Macro

The macro frame moves in on one cover's opening: woven blue fabric, black lining, zigzag stitching, and the ring of transparent grip dots that hold the cover on the club. This is the frame that answers 'is it any good' better than any spec line.

Retouching

Both frames get one vivid, clean finish: turf kept deep green, blacks kept detailed, blue panels matched to the physical covers, and lint cleaned at 200% zoom. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.
