The client sells leather-look flip cases and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the line for online listings. The cases come in 4 colorways, navy, cream, brown, and pink, with stitched geometric fronts and a fold-out stand. We shot 8 images in our Guangzhou studio on a dark set styled for the executive shelf: a bottle with an 18-year label, roasted coffee beans, and gold-trimmed pens, including frames with the case fitted on a Coolpad 7296 and folded into its stand, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Dark set, light product. The cream and pink cases sit on a near-black set. We lit the case as the brightest object and let everything else fall a stop or two darker, so the eye lands on the product first and the props read as atmosphere.

2. Leather texture needs raking light. Flat light flattens the pebbled grain. Our key comes in at a low angle so the texture reads, and the stitched diagonal lines catch a thin highlight, the detail that makes a $15 case look considered.

3. The props set the buyer. A whiskey bottle, coffee beans, and fountain pens say who this case is for: the executive desk. Props are kept behind or beside the product and slightly soft, so they build the mood without stealing the frame.

4. Stand mode must look effortless. Two frames fold the case into its kickstand with a phone fitted, screen on. The fold has to look crisp and self-supporting, because that is the feature: no hands, no prop, just the case doing its second job.

Our Approach

Colorway Heroes

Each of the 4 colorways gets a closed-case hero leaning against the bottle: navy, cream, brown, and pink, each in the same pose under the same moody light, so the color does the talking and the range reads as one design in 4 moods.

Detail and Stand Frames

The back-detail frame shows the camera cutout, flash hole, and stitching up close. The stand frames fit the case on a Coolpad 7296, screen lit, folded into its triangular kickstand, answering 'how does the stand work' without a manual.

Retouching

All 8 frames keep the low-key mood: blacks deep, case colors matched to the physical units, leather grain crisp, and the bottle label kept soft so no third-party brand reads. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.

"Accessories sell identity. Put the case on an executive desk, light it like it belongs there, and the buyer pictures their own desk." June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an 8-image set like this cost?

This set came to about $280 at $35 per styled image, props and the executive set included. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.

How long does the shoot take?

These 8 images were delivered in 5 business days. One dark set, one light recipe: colorways rotate through the same pose so the range stays consistent.

Can styled scenes go on Amazon?

Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the case alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per colorway.

Why style phone cases with whiskey and pens?

Because accessories are bought on identity. The executive props tell the buyer who this case is for, in one glance, without a word of copy.

Can you show the case in use?

Yes. The stand-mode frames in this set do exactly that: the case fitted on a phone, folded into its kickstand, screen on. Feature frames are included at the standard $35 scene rate.

Can you match this style for new models later?

Yes. The set and light recipe stay in the studio, so cases for new phone models slot into the same dark executive look, at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
