The client sells vacuum-insulated flasks and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the line for online listings: silver, rose-gold, black, and white versions, plus the gift box, bag, and cleaning brush. We shot 9 images in our Guangzhou studio: a men's EDC flat lay on cyan, a women's gift flat lay on pink, color-block packaging frames, and the full gift sets on black, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. A flask is sold by the company it keeps. A steel cylinder alone says nothing about who it is for. We built 2 flat lays: sunglasses, keys, and a pen for him on cyan; a card, compact, and wallet for her on pink. The props do the targeting.

2. Four finishes, one logic. Silver, rose-gold, black, and white flasks must read as one line. We kept the same centered composition across frames, so the catalog grid looks deliberate, and each finish gets its own background color to glow against.

3. The gift set is a second product. Box, bag, brush, and card are what a gift buyer actually receives. We laid them out complete on black, because 'comes in a nice box' closes the gift purchase faster than any copy.

4. Black products on black need edges. The black flask disappears into the dark set without rim control. We flagged a thin highlight down one edge, so the cylinder keeps its silhouette and its gloss.

Our Approach

EDC Flat Lays

The flat lays arrange each flask with its owner's daily carry: the silver flask with phone, sunglasses, keys, and pen on cyan; the rose-gold flask with wallet, compact, and a greeting card on pink. Buyers see their own desk in the photo.

Packaging and Gift Sets

The color-block frames lean the black flask against its white box on pink and peach. The gift set flat lays complete the story on black: bag, box, manual, brush, and both flasks, everything a gift recipient opens.

Retouching

All 9 frames keep the finishes honest: steel bright, rose-gold warm, black glossy with clean edges, and background colors flat and true. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.

"A flask photo is a portrait of its owner. Style the desk, and the right buyer recognizes themselves in the frame." June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 9-image set like this cost?

This set came to about $315 at $35 per styled image, all 4 sets and props included. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.

How long does the shoot take?

These 9 images were delivered in 5 business days. Four background sweeps in one session: the flasks move from cyan to pink to color-block to black while the light recipe stays.

Can styled scenes go on Amazon?

Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the flask alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per finish.

Why style flasks with everyday-carry props?

Because a steel cylinder alone says nothing about who it is for. Sunglasses and keys target him; a card and compact target her. The props do the audience work.

Why photograph the gift box and bag?

Because gift buyers are buying the unboxing as much as the flask. Showing the bag, box, brush, and card complete answers 'does it come gift-ready' in one frame.

Can you add more finishes later?

Yes. All 4 sweeps stay in the studio, so new colors slot into the same compositions, at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
