The client sells handcrafted silver teapots and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the collection for online listings: hammered pots, a lotus-chased design, studded side-handle pots, and fluted melon shapes, all with wrapped handles. We shot 8 images in our Guangzhou studio across 3 backdrops: black for drama, weathered gray wood for craft, and plain gray for catalog clarity, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges
1. Silver is a mirror with a shape. A polished pot reflects the whole studio. We light through large soft sources and flag everything else, so each pot carries long clean highlights that trace its curves instead of a map of the room.
2. The texture is the product. Hammered dimples, lotus chasing, arare studs: buyers of handcrafted pots are buying the surface. We rake the light across it, so every hammer mark casts a tiny shadow and the handwork reads at full size.
3. Dark handles need separation. The wrapped handles sit close to the dark backdrops. We keep a faint edge light on the wrap, so the handle silhouette reads and the braided texture stays visible.
4. Three backdrops, one family. Black for drama, gray wood for craft, plain gray for the catalog: the pots change backdrops, but the light recipe and the angles stay, so the collection reads as one line.
Our Approach
Black Backdrop Frames
The hammered and fluted pots stand on black: highlights run the curves, shadows fall away, and the wrapped handles arc against nothing. These are the hero frames for the collection.
Gray Wood Frames
The studded and hammered pots rest on weathered gray planks: the wood grain answers the handwork, and the muted surface keeps the metal the brightest thing in the frame.
Catalog Grays
The plain-gray frames are the quiet workhorses: pot centered, soft shadow, nothing else. They drop into spec sheets and wholesale decks without a word of explanation.
Retouching
All 8 frames keep the silver honest: highlights clean, textures crisp, backdrops flat, and the wrapped handles readable. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an 8-image set like this cost?
This set came to about $280 at $35 per styled image, all 3 backdrops included. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.
How long does the shoot take?
These 8 images were delivered in 5 business days. Three backdrops in one session: the light recipe stays, only the surface under the pot changes.
Can styled scenes go on Amazon?
Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the pot alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per design.
How do you photograph mirror-polished silver?
With large soft sources and flags on everything else. The pot then carries long clean highlights that trace its curves, instead of reflecting the whole room.
How do you show the hand-hammered texture?
By raking the light across the surface. Every dimple casts a tiny shadow, and the handwork reads at full size the way it reads in the hand.
Can you add more pots to the collection later?
Yes. All 3 backdrops stay in the studio, so new designs slot into the same family look, at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
