Colored LED Bulb Photography

The client sells colored LED bulbs and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China for the range shot: blue, orange, red, and green in one frame. We shot it in our Guangzhou studio on the white sweep: the 4 bulbs lying in a loose diagonal, screw bases angled to camera so the E27 threads read, domes glossy, colors saturated to match the physical shells, under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. 4 colors, one exposure. Blue, orange, red, and green react differently to the same light: red clips first, blue goes dark, green shifts cool. We light soft and flat on purpose, then fine-tune each color channel in retouching against the physical bulbs under a D50 viewing lamp, so all 4 shells match the product in hand.

2. Glossy domes need a controlled window. Each dome is a small mirror. We put one large softbox directly overhead, so every dome carries the same clean window-shaped catchlight, and the color below it stays readable instead of drowning in glare.

3. Screw bases prove the fit. The threads are the buying detail. We angle the bulbs so the E27 screws face camera with raking side light across the threads, because 'standard screw base' is a claim buyers verify with their eyes.

Our Approach

The Range Frame

One frame, 4 bulbs, loose diagonal on white: colors ordered blue-orange-red-green for maximum neighbor contrast, threads forward, one clean catchlight per dome. The frame works as the main image for a multi-color listing and as the range anchor for A+ Content.

Retouching

The frame is finished against physical samples: each shell color matched under D50 light, threads crisp, whites at 245-252, and contact shadows kept natural. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon main-image slots.
