Chrome Shower System Photography

The client sells chrome shower systems and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the line for online listings: rainfall columns, the exposed bath mixer, and the hand-shower rail. We shot 9 images in our Guangzhou studio across 2 setups: the fixtures mounted against black and dark textured walls, one frame with the water actually running, and the complete kits laid out on glossy black for the parts count, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Chrome against black is a mirror exam. Every surface reflects the studio. We build a tunnel of black flags around the fixture and open one long strip softbox camera-left, so the chrome carries a single clean highlight band from head to valve, and the black backdrop reflects as deep gloss instead of studio clutter.

2. Running water needs flash and a fast shutter plan. The rainfall frame runs real water through the square head. We freeze the jets with a short flash duration, lighting the water curtain from behind at a low angle, so each stream reads as a bright line against the gray wall: the frame proves flow, not Photoshop.

3. The kit flat lay is the trust frame. Hoses, valve, flanges, washers, screws: buyers count parts before they buy. We lay the full kit on glossy black in a measured grid, shot near top-down at 50mm to keep the pipes parallel, so 'complete set' is verifiable in the picture.

4. White levers must not blow out. The mixer's white handle sits beside mirror chrome. We expose for the highlights and pull the whites back in retouching, so the lever keeps its edge and the chrome keeps its band.

Our Approach

Mounted Frames

The column, mixer, and rail mount against black and dark textured walls: full height for the column, close three-quarter for the mixer, slider detail for the rail. The strip light runs the chrome's length, and the dark surfaces turn reflections into contrast.

The Water Frame

The square head runs live: flash-frozen jets against the gray wall, plus the split composite that pairs the running shower with a bright bathroom render, so spec buyers and dream buyers both get their frame.

Kit Flat Lays

Two flat lays on glossy black cover the contents: the full pipe-and-valve grid, and the head-and-handset pair. Near top-down at 50mm, softboxes flagged to a tunnel, every washer countable.

Retouching

All 9 frames keep the metal honest: highlight bands continuous, water lines crisp, blacks deep, and the white levers detailed. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.
