The client sells soft muslin gauze cloths for babies and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the range for online listings. The cloths come in pastel blue, mint, and white with subtle prints, crinkled and quilted for softness. We shot 7 images in our Guangzhou studio: the 6-piece gift box opened with rolls standing inside, cloths draped over a wicker basket, flat lays on fluffy faux fur with a magazine and rattan props, and one frame of all 5 colors hanging from clips in a row, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges
1. Softness is the product. A muslin cloth sells one thing: soft. We shot the crinkle and quilt texture close and draped the cloths over a basket edge so they fold the way only soft fabric folds. Stiff cloth hangs straight; this cloth pours.
2. White on white needs anchoring. White cloths on a white fluffy set can float away. The rattan mat, the brown basket, and the green box give the frames warm anchors, so the whites stay clean but the photo has somewhere to sit.
3. Pastels must stay apart. Baby blue and mint are neighbors; under warm light they merge. We locked white balance on a gray card and matched each cloth to its physical sample in retouching, so buyers see the color they will unbox.
4. A set needs a group portrait. The hanging frame clips all 5 colors in a row like laundry on a line. One frame that answers 'what colors come in the set' faster than any bullet list.
Our Approach
The Gift Box Frame
The hero frame opens the retail box with 6 rolls standing inside and the lid leaning beside it. Shoppers see exactly what arrives: count, colors, and packaging, in one shot. That frame does the work of the whole 'what's included' section.
Drape and Flat Lays
The basket frame lets 3 cloths pour over a wicker handle, the classic way to show drape. The flat lays fold single cloths diagonally on a rattan mat over faux fur, with a magazine and a woven ball for scale and warmth, each cloth getting its own quiet portrait.
Retouching
All 7 frames get one bright, clean finish: whites lifted without blowing the quilt texture, pastels matched to physical cloths, and lint picked off at 200% zoom. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.
"Photographing softness is about letting fabric behave like fabric: drape it, crinkle it, pour it over an edge. The hands that see it will understand." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a 7-image set like this cost?
This set came to about $245 at $35 per styled image, props and styling included. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.
How long does the shoot take?
These 7 images were delivered in 5 business days. Textile work is mostly styling time: folding, draping, and steaming each cloth until it behaves.
Can styled scenes go on Amazon?
Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the product alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per item.
How do you show softness in a photo?
By letting the fabric move: drape it over an edge so it pours, shoot the crinkle texture close, and keep light soft. Stiff fabric hangs straight, soft fabric folds, and buyers can see the difference.
Can you shoot the full color range together?
Yes. The hanging frame in this set does exactly that: all colors clipped in a row so shoppers compare shades in one glance. Color lineups are included at the standard $35 scene rate.
Can you add more textile products in this style?
Yes. The set and props stay in the studio, so blankets, towels, and bibs can join the same look: same faux fur, same rattan, same light. New items run at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
