Acoustic Guitar Product Photography

The client sells acoustic guitars and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot a cutaway model for online listings. We shot 7 images in our Guangzhou studio on the white sweep: the front three-quarter hero, the striped back from 2 angles, diagonals that carry the soundhole, pickguard, and fretboard in one line, and the straight rear view with its center seam, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. A guitar is 2 products. The front sells the sound: spruce top, rosette, pickguard. The back sells the wood: striped grain and center seam. Buyers check both, so both get hero-quality frames.

2. Gloss reflects the whole room. A polished top mirrors every stand and cable in the studio. We light through large soft sources and flag everything else, so the gloss carries one long clean highlight and nothing else.

3. The diagonal is the full story. Body to headstock along the diagonal shows top, side, fretboard, and tuners in one frame: the single image that answers the most questions.

4. The cutaway must read. The cutaway is the model's selling point over a standard body. We angle the three-quarter frames so the cutaway horn is unmistakable in silhouette.

Our Approach

Front and Back Heroes

The front three-quarter shows the spruce top, rosette, and tortoise pickguard with the cutaway clear. The rear frames show the striped back straight on and angled, because tonewood is a buying argument, not a hidden side.

Diagonal Coverage

The diagonals run the full length of the instrument: soundhole to headstock, body curves to tuner hardware. These are the zoom frames buyers open when they are close to purchasing.

Retouching

All 7 frames keep the wood honest: grain crisp, gloss clean, cream top warm, and dust removed at 200% zoom. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon main-image slots.
