The client sells stainless steel shoehorns and travel accessories and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the line for online listings: a polished long shoehorn with a sculptural handle and its stitched leather sheath, plus a folding camping spork. We shot 8 images in our Guangzhou studio: the shoehorn on glossy black with magazine and dish props, close-ups of the handle and blade, and the spork on warm wood, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges
1. Mirror steel on glossy black. A polished shoehorn on a reflective black table is 2 mirrors facing each other. We light for the reflection as much as the product, so the mirrored shape below reads as a bonus view, not a smear.
2. A shoehorn needs a status set. The product solves a humble task, but it is sold as a premium gift. The dark set with magazine and leather props places it in the executive world, where a $40 shoehorn makes sense.
3. The handle is the design story. The sculptural bird-style handle with its black inlays is what separates this from a hardware-store strip. We give it macro frames, because the handle is where the price tag lives.
4. The sheath proves the gift. The stitched leather pouch is half the product for gift buyers. It lies under the steel in every scene frame, stitching crisp, so 'comes with a leather sheath' is seen, not claimed.
Our Approach
Dark Scene Frames
The shoehorn lies diagonally across its leather sheath on the glossy black table, magazine and black dish props behind. The diagonal keeps the long object dynamic, and the reflections double the shine.
Detail Macros
The close-ups go tight on the handle: the bird head, the black inlay strips, the polished blade edge. This is where buyers zoom, so this is where we focus hardest.
The Spork Frame
The folding spork gets its own warm frame on wood with a white bowl behind: the travel cousin in the same catalog, shot bright where the shoehorn shoots dark.
Retouching
All 8 frames keep the materials honest: chrome bright with clean bands, leather warm with crisp stitching, blacks deep. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.
"A humble tool sells on its stage: dark gloss for the executive, warm wood for the traveler, and macros where the design earns its price." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an 8-image set like this cost?
This set came to about $280 at $35 per styled image, sets and props included. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.
How long does the shoot take?
These 8 images were delivered in 5 business days. The dark set carries 7 frames; the spork gets its own warm setup beside it.
Can styled scenes go on Amazon?
Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the product alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per item.
Why photograph a shoehorn in a dark premium set?
Because it is sold as a gift, not a hardware item. The dark gloss, the leather, and the magazine place it in the executive world where a premium shoehorn makes sense.
Why so many close-ups of the handle?
Because the sculptural handle is where the price lives. The blade does the job, but the handle justifies the tag, so the macros do the selling.
Can you add more accessories later?
Yes. Both sets stay in the studio, so new tools slot into the same look, at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
