The client sells pastel cotton towel sets under the Sun Cleanly line and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot them for online listings: bath and hand sizes with woven stripe and chevron borders. We shot 9 images in our Guangzhou studio on the bright window set: 2-stack family frames, a 3-color hanging row, drape studies, a wire-basket arrangement, and the frosted drawstring packaging, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Pastels wash out under window light. Baby blue, pink, and cream sit close to white. We meter for the towels and hold exposure one-third stop under the window's peak, so the sheer curtains glow without dragging the towel colors up with them: the blue stays blue at thumbnail size.

2. The border is the SKU identifier. Buyers distinguish these towels by the woven band: stripes on one line, chevrons on the other. Every stack is folded so the border faces camera at the front edge, and the fold height is matched across colors, so the range reads as one family with 3 members.

3. Hanging fabric needs internal structure. A towel on a bar collapses into a shapeless hang. We fold each towel to a peaked top over the rail, so the drape falls in clean verticals and the border stays parallel to the floor: the grid of the rack and the grid of the weave agree.

4. Packaging is part of the textile sale. The frosted drawstring bag with its cotton mark is half the gift appeal. It gets 2 frames: flat with props, upright with the contents visible through the frost, because buyers check how a textile arrives.

Our Approach

Stack and Family Frames

The towels fold into matched stacks, borders forward: 2-pile family frame for the size range, single 3-color stack for the color range. Props stay botanical and white, so the pastels keep the frame.

Hanging and Drape Frames

The rack frame hangs yellow, pink, and blue in a row, backlit through the sheers. The drape studies pull a single towel over the rail and the tent drape, so the terry's weight and softness show in motion-frozen form.

Packaging Frames

The drawstring bag lies flat with greens and magazine, then stands upright with the pink towel visible through the frost: the arrival experience photographed before the buyer opens anything.

Retouching

All 9 frames keep the textile honest: pastels matched to physical towels under D50, terry loops crisp at 100%, borders straightened, and the frosted bag's print legible. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.

"Towel sets sell in 3 states: folded for the shelf, hung for the bathroom, packaged for the gift. Cover all 3 and the listing needs no persuasion." June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 9-image set like this cost?

This set came to about $315 at $35 per styled image, the window set and props included. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.

How long does the shoot take?

These 9 images were delivered in 5 business days. One window set carries the session: stacks, rack, and drapes rotate through the same light.

Can styled scenes go on Amazon?

Yes, in the secondary slots, A+ Content, and your brand store, delivered at 2000x2000px. Main images must be the towel alone on pure white, which we add at $12 per color.

How do you keep pastel colors from washing out?

By metering for the towels and holding exposure one-third stop under the window's peak. The curtains still glow, but the blue stays blue at thumbnail size.

Why fold every stack with the border forward?

Because the woven band is how buyers tell the line apart. Matched fold heights and forward borders make the range read as one family across the page.

Can you add more colors later?

Yes. The window set stays in the studio, so new colors slot into the same layouts, at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
